Hi, I'm Yue.

I'm an ex-big law lawyer who builds AI products.

Shipping consumer AI apps as the only engineer on the team. Being among the first people to learn to code with AI, starting right after GPT-4 launched in 2023. Advising tech companies on employment matters as a lawyer at DLA Piper.

Right now, I'm writing about how lawyers can work effectively with AI. First essay coming soon.

I build AI products that help people learn and grow.

Since GPT-4 came out in 2023, I've been focused on creating experiences that are more guided and structured than chat. The chat interface is powerful because it's flexible and approachable, but it falls short when people need reliable guidance. A structured approach, prompting users for the right context and breaking down problems into smaller parts, reduces cognitive load and helps them reach clarity faster. I write more about this in Kaleida.

I started this founder journey as a lawyer with no background in tech. In 2023, I learned Swift with help from GPT, and within six months, shipped Tinyverse with a frontend I built from scratch. Since then, I've built multiple apps as the only engineer on the team.

I've been writing my EP over the last few years.

It's a collection of solo piano pieces, each inspired by a moment from my founder journey. The home recordings of three songs from the album are below.

Music is my oldest friend. It's where I go for reflection and inspiration. I studied classical piano growing up. I also learned the cello, and played in local orchestras, including the LA Lawyers Philharmonic. Now, I'm exploring composition and jazz.
